Lights! Cameras! Action!
Join us at the Loose MooseTheatre in the Crossroads Market on Monday, February 20th for our kickoff to the 6th annual Reel Fun Film Festival, and discover what it's like to be on a real live film set! Starting at 10am, the lobby will be transformed into a working film set, where you can come and take a turn in front of, and behind the camera! Find out what it's like to be a director, a camera or sound operator, an editor, or take a turn in front of the camera and show the world your acting chops!.

With combined experience of over 35 years in the film industry, Lisa Jemus and Regan Enderl have brought an exciting component to the Family Day Event of the Reel Fun Film Festival for the past two years. Pairing award winning industry professionals with eager children of all ages, Regan and Lisa have been thrilled to enable a unique mentorship of young people with individuals who are actually making their living working in the film business in Alberta. Along with the extremely popular interactive film set, they have invited their colleagues to set up interactive booths where families can get up close and personal with industry professionals, who are more than willing to share their wealth of knowledge and expertise with them.

The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore
UK / Animated / English / 15 min / Grades 4+

Inspired in equal measures, by Hurricane Katrina, Buster Keaton, The Wizard of Oz, and a love for books, "Morris Lessmore" is a story of people who devote their lives to books and books who return the favor. The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore is a poignant, humorous allegory about the curative powers of story. Using a variety of techniques (miniatures, computer animation, 2D animation), award-winning author/illustrator William Joyce and Co-director Brandon Oldenburg present a hybrid style of animation that harkens back to silent films and M-G-M Technicolor musicals."Morris Lessmore" is old-fashioned and cutting edge at the same time.
